Praying with a Full Heart: Machzor Lev Shalem

Encountering the “Next-Gen” Prayerbook

Ritual, Prayer & Spirituality, Text & Thought

Machzor Lev Shalem, the new High Holy Day prayerbook published this spring by the Conservative movement’s Rabbinical Assembly, has already sold a record-breaking 120,000-plus copies. From the Wall Street Journal to the blogosphere, from American synagogues to Tel Aviv minyanim to solo daveners, the book has met with rave reviews. Find out what the sensation is all about, and what this first of a new generation of prayerbooks teaches us about the High Holy Days, the nature of prayer, and Judaism.
