Avraham Sutton has edited or authored over 20 major works in English on the deeper significance of Torah for our age. Steeped in the tradition of the great kabbalistic masters, he is an insider of Torah. He is a scholar, but one who speaks from the heart. His teachings revolve around the need to develop a greater awareness of God in our lives.

Olam, Shanah, Nefesh (Space, Time, and Consciousness)

Ritual, Prayer & Spirituality

Kabbalistic View of Reality 1. Space: The Cosmological Teachings of the Kabbalah; the Spiritual History of the World 2. Time: The Cosmic Clock; what is special about our time? 3. Consciousness: The Collective Drama of the Souls; who are we? Why have we born at this time?

"InnerSpace: Introduction to Kabbalah, Meditation and Prophesy"

Ritual, Prayer & Spirituality, Text & Thought

Since its publication in 1990, "InnerSpace" continues to be considered one of the finest introductions to authentic Jewish mysticism in the English language. As posthumous editor of this work, I will give a brief description of my relationship with Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan, and how I put "InnerSpace" together from transcripts of his classes. We will then discuss the main ideas in depth. Some of these ideas are: the olamot (mega-system of worlds), sefirot, and levels of the soul.

Jewish Meditation--Ancient and Modern

Ritual, Prayer & Spirituality

Jewish Meditation: an introduction to the various modalities involved in meditation in general, and in Jewish meditation in particular. Includes breathing techniques and sounding the letters in enjoyable and relaxing way; also visualization techniques; and finally, how all this relates to prayer.
