Demons Within, Demons Without

The Tikkun of the Dark Side in Kabbalah

Spirituality & Mindfulness, Text & Thought

Jewish tradition is filled with tales of the dark side of the cosmos and the spirit: demons and dragons, dybbuks and devils. The tradition fully portrays the terrifying aspect of the "Other Side," but it also teaches that it is an inextricable part of the self, the cosmos, and even the Divine. We will explore this "unconscious of Judaism," reading about the wild creatures of the Jewish imagination and seeking out the "demonic names" that Kabbalah tells us lie within each of us.
