Susan is a psychologist currently in private practice. She is on the faculty of the Institute of Psychoanalytic Training and Research's Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy Training Program. Susan was previously a Senior Psychologist at the Jewish Board of Family and Children's Services in Manhattan, Adj. Prof. for graduate course, Psychology of Parenthood, NYU, Va'ad member of The New Shul, a progressive synagogue in Greenwich Village.

Understanding How Families Transmit Trauma

Trauma, including collective trauma such as the Holocaust, greatly affects families for generations. Understanding the ways in which families struggling with trauma attempt to heal themselves, and the psychological mechanisms involved, can promote healthier family functioning, more satisfying parent-child relationships and less stress and anxiety for the individuals involved.
