If Judaism is the Answer, What is the Question

A Google-Earth look at Judaism and Jewish life

Identity & Responsibility, Text & Thought

We will explore the “big picture” that got Abraham, Moses and company started 4000 years ago. We will then zoom in on how that dream is or is not relevant today. Finally, we will zoom in even further to the details of Jewish practice to see how they connect us to the big picture. That is, what does a light switch on Shabbat have to do with saving the world? Participants will be engaged in lively discussion and encouraged to find harmony between their own global views and their personal practice.

I Know You Are in There

Tools for Caring for Patients with Dementia

Identity & Responsibility

It can be a struggle to feel connected to someone who is unable to communicate with us in the ways to which we are accustomed. This session, led by an experienced hospital/hospice chaplain, will address the frustration and pain of family/caregivers of dementia patients. Those who give care often feel that they have “lost” the ones they love. This session will explore suggestions for how not only to retain a real bond, but perhaps even to connect on new and closer levels than ever before.
