Since 1987, Billy’s heartwarming and joy-filled work has inspired folks across North America and beyond. Billy sings, plays guitar, and ‘industrial re percussion’: homemade, recycled and found-object instruments. On recordings and select dates Billy’s ensemble (The Billy Jonas Band) includes 2-4 part harmony, bass and world percussion, and more!

Billy Jonas visited Israel from January to March of 2009. During that period he spent half of his time in “Palestine”, and much of that living with a Palestinian family near Hebron. “It was an attempt,” says Billy, “to test and put to rest some of the questions and prejudices with which I grew up.” Billy will share photos, tell of his experiences, and answer questions.

Billy Jonas Concert

Arts & Performance

Throw out the rules when Billy Jonas hits the stage! It’s a musical conversation … a sonic celebration … a splendiferous gathering of the tribe. He’s a one-man band, and a mad scientist of the spirit, weaving his experiences into original songs that explore the sacred as well as the inane. His primary instrument is the audience; in addition he plays an assortment of “industrial re-percussion” instruments made from found, foraged, and recycled materials. All ages are welcome, though this will be an adult/general audience oriented concert. Young folks must be accompanied by an adult.
