Identity & Responsibility,
Ritual & Prayer
Is there an intersection between personal autonomy and halakhic (Jewish legal) obligation? Does liberal theology have room for a more traditional understanding of mitzvot (commandments)? The Rethinking Reform Think Tank is a group of rabbis and rabbinical students who come together to engage in study and sharing on issues of observance in a liberal context. We will share stories and personal anecdotes, leading to a discussion about how we might all come to more nuanced views on the role of mitzvot in a liberal Jew’s life.
