In “A Shabbos Mother,” three sisters from a religious family, but with different attitudes towards Jewish womanhood and motherhood, gather at their mother’s house for an intense Shabbat together.
“Addes” is a documentary about a Sephardic synagogue in Jerusalem as it turns a century old. Plans for the upcoming celebration ignite a conflict over old and new, identity and memory, and the living and the dead. **Please note, this film contains a brief vivid scene in a kosher slaughterhouse.
Following the films, Gili Goldschmidt will talk about the Ma'ale religious film school in Jerusalem.
