Adam Hootnick

Adam Hootnick’s first film is “Unsettled.” As a producer at MTV News & Docs, he covered politics and international affairs focusing on the war in Iraq and MTV’s Choose or Lose coverage of the 2004 US Presidential election. Adam also worked at NBC News and MSNBC. He covered news in India, South Africa, Cuba, and Israel, where he lived in 1997-98. He has worked for the South African Parliament’s Justice Committee and the Boston Consulting Group. He graduated from Harvard College and Harvard Law School.

A Portrayal of the Disengagement from Gaza

During the Gaza disengagement, three young Israelis will be forced from their homes, two soldiers will be sent to evict them, and one activist will try to help her country avoid a war. Featuring music from reggae superstar Matisyahu, “Unsettled” is a story about religion and democracy, soldiers and civilians, and the kids on the front lines of a battle where there is no enemy. **Please note, the screening will be followed by a Q&A session with director Adam Hootnick in a separate room during the following timeslot.
