Carmith Shai was born in Israel and grew up in France. She studied Art and Cinema at the Sorbonne University and worked in the film industry in Paris and Jerusalem. She taught children and adults for five years at the Talmud Torah of the Massorti community of Paris. In January 2007, she joined the graduate program in Expressive and Arts Therapies at Lesley University in Cambridge MA.
