The 1789 Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen guaranteed freedom of religion and free exercise of worship, provided that it did not contradict public order. This emancipation of the Jews changed the definition of Judaism and led to our modern understanding of ourselves and our place in society. Was this good for the Jews or a devil’s bargain?

What has emerged is a deeper understanding of religions, and more importantly, growing trust and friendship. Daughters of Abraham now has many groups around the country. Come hear how to replicate this experience in your own community.

Is it an institution to be saved or abandoned by the American Jewish community? Considering that 75% of Jewish kids are still educated by Hebrew schools, these are important questions!
