Marcus J. Freed

Email: show

Marcus is a performer, writer and Bibliyogi. Frustrated with uninspiring synagogues, he devised Bibliyoga™ as a technique for accessing spirituality through the body. He has studied yoga with Edward Clarke (Tripsichore Yoga), Torah at Yeshivat HaMivtar in Israel, and acting at Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London. He also has degrees from the universities of Birmingham and London. Marcus has toured the USA performing solo Biblical comedies such as “Solomon: King, Poet & Lover,” and “Elijah: First Action Hero.”

Solomon:

King, Poet, and Lover

“Solomon” is a raucous rollercoaster of a play, written by Marcus J. Freed & Raphael Zarum and originally premiered at Limmud (UK) 1999. Who was the man that wrote Biblical wisdom and built the Temple? Marcus plays the King, his 700 wives and 300 concubines, his court Eunuch and chief accountant. Joseph Telushkin called this play “smart, utterly original and deeply insightful.” Seen in 15 countries and last seen in 2004, “Solomon” uncovers the truth about a most enigmatic monarch. **Please note, a sound system will accompany the show.
