Who Really Benefits From Social Justice?

Do we do it to feel good? Or to actually help?

Identity and Responsibility, Text and Thought

Who really benefits from our social justice work? We all do it. We all talk about what we do with our friends. But does it actually help anyone, or does it just make us feel good and give us an interesting story for a cocktail party? In this discussion we will look at some subversive texts that will challenge all of our assumptions about why we really do this work. We will address the questions of whether our work is really altruistic and whether it is actually helping those in need.
