Nigel Savage

Nigel, originally from Manchester England, founded Hazon, the leading Jewish environmental organization in the US, in 2000. Hazon runs a growing series of Jewish bike rides, hikes and food programs. Prior to founding Hazon, Nigel worked in the English equivalent of Wall St, where he was co-head of the UK equities team at Govett. He has an MA from Georgetown, and learned at Pardes, Yakar, Jerusalem Fellows and Hebrew University. In the UK he was an active Limmudnik and exec member from 1993, and a founding trustee of New Israel Fund. He's a founding board member of Limmud New York, and Vice-President of the Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center. He's infamous in the UK for his cameo appearance in the cult Anglo-Jewish movie, "Leon The Pig Farmer," and is thought to be the first English Jew to have cycled across the state of South Dakota on a recumbent bike.
