Cecilia Hanono

Cecilia Hanono has worked in the Sociedad Hebraica Argentina as a group counselor and has served as Program Coordinator for Arachim, a two-year project funded by the Jewish Federation bringing together teens in 8th and 9th grade from six neighboring Jewish synagogues of the Los Angeles South Bay area. She has developed Youth Departments at Temple Menorah in Redondo Beach, and in Pasadena Jewish Temple and Center. Cecilia started teaching Israeli Folk Dance regularly both in Jewish organizations and in the LAUSD through Keshet Chaim. Today, she is proud to say that Keshet has a great staff of trained Israeli Folk Dance instructors, with a successful curriculum working in more than a dozen Jewish organizations. Cecilia is also the Cultural Arts and Dance Director for Camp Ramah in California.

Calling all movers and shakers! Come to this session to get moving and explore the history of Israeli folk dancing while learning the basic moves and some classic dances. This session uses music, movement, and cooperative learning to follow the tradition of Israeli folk dance from the kibbutzim of the nascent State of Israel to the dance halls of modern Jewish communities around the world.
