This class has a heart-centered theme flowing from Jewish texts, and a strong focus on alignment for optimal benefit and safety. The Torah theme is woven through the class as we use the poses on the mat to embody a ‘practice’ of positive concepts that can enhance our lives off the mat.
If you have them, please bring yoga mats, blocks, and blankets to use and share. A limited number of mats will also be available to borrow. This class is appropriate for teens and adults who are easily able to get up and down from the floor.

Ozo's Coffee in Boulder has been the weekly meeting place of a reform and a conservative rabbi for two years. They sit, sip their favorite coffee or tea and immerse themselves in an extraordinary text that combines esoteric Kabbalah with the ethical practice of mussar. The text is Moshe Cordevero's "Tomer Devorah – The Palm Tree of Deborah." In this session, Josh and Marc will model their havruta style of learning, and share insights gained by their study together and how it has changed them.

Next, Caryn Aviv will survey how American Jews are 'changing the conversation' about their relationships to Israel through the emergence of non-profit educational and lobbying/advocacy organizations. Finally, we will hear from Bruce Shaffer, who will share his personal experiences and reflections about his participation in Encounter Programs, an educational group that brings Jews from around the world to Israel and the West Bank for dialogue with Palestinians.
