Bryan Zive

 

Bryan Zive, and his band Kol Echad (One Voice), brings a unique style to the Reform and Conservative Jewish movement and is one of its active musical composers, educators, and entertainers. He has performed in various synagogues, camp institutes, Jewish Community Centers, and Hillels around the world. He is also the current Cantorial Soloist/Music Director of Temple Sinai in Denver, CO.

This session is based upon the decades of wonderful music produced in the Union for Reform Judaism and its youth groups. Come learn and enjoy a spiritual, musical and historical journey of the development of Jewish music from the 1940s until present day. Learn the meaning behind lyrics and text, the style of musical composition, and about the composers that have greatly influenced Reform Jewish communities throughout the world. This course is highly interactive (audio clips and even live performance, including singing!) and will provide a strong orientation to music used in contemporary Jewish music, past, present and future.

Bryan Zive, one of the Reform Movement's active composers, entertainers, and educators, will provide contemporary Jewish rock music featuring themes of Torah and liturgy, as performed in his concerts and educational programs around the world. Featuring strong instrumentation, powerful vocals and harmonies and spiritual lessons and teachings through music, Bryan Zive and his band Kol Echad (One Voice) will provide an acoustic performance that is not just entertaining, but also educational, while helping to create a spiritual and strong Jewish identity for all listeners.
