Arts & Performance, Ritual & Prayer

L'chaim! L'chaim! Tisch is Yiddish for table -- the table around which we gather on Friday night to sing, schmooze, share stories and words of Torah to enrich our Shabbat, deepen connections among our Limmud community, and unwind into a different dimension. Join some of Limmud's presenters and participants as we share from our hearts and souls.

Sitting Together under The Palm of Devorah

Josh Rose, Marc Soloway, Congregation Bonai Shalom

Text & Thought

Ozo's Coffee in Boulder has been the weekly meeting place of a reform and a conservative rabbi for two years. They sit, sip their favorite coffee or tea and immerse themselves in an extraordinary text that combines esoteric Kabbalah with the ethical practice of mussar. The text is Moshe Cordevero's "Tomer Devorah – The Palm Tree of Deborah." In this session, Josh and Marc will model their havruta style of learning, and share insights gained by their study together and how it has changed them.

Ashamed and Proud of It

Three Rabbis Discuss What Drives Them Crazy About Their Own Movements

Gavriel Goldfeder, Josh Rose, Marc Soloway, Congregation Bonai Shalom

Identity & Responsibility, Text & Thought

Yitz Greenberg supposedly said “it doesn't matter what denomination you belong to as long as you're ashamed of it,” or something like that. Join an Orthodox, a Conservative and a Reform rabbi, all from Boulder, as they let it rip on all that bothers them about their own brand of Judaism. They may get distracted and share what they like, too.
