Ramon Tasat

 

Born in Buenos Aires, Ramón Tasat is a doctor and cantor. He has toured Europe and performed at international festivals on both sides of the Atlantic including the Kennedy Center, the Israeli Embassy, the Berkeley Jewish Music Festival, Limmud UK, and at venues in France, Italy, Finland, Argentina and Spain. The hazzan (prayer leader) of Shirat HaNefesh in Silver Spring, Maryland, Ramón is also the director of the cantorial program at the Academy of Jewish Religion and the president of Shalshelet: The Foundation for New Jewish Liturgical Music.
