In this workshop, we will examine the poetry of NY's communist Yiddish poets during the 1930s and the many ways in which it was radical. From critiques of capitalism to love poems, from solidarity with other minorities to explorations of their newly adopted home, from celebrations of nature to fantasies of revenge, these proletarian poets produced radical, modern poetry for all workers.

Join Storahtelling Mavens-in-Training Caryn Aviv and Ilan Glazer and special guests as they bring the Torah to life through a fresh fusion of Hebrew chanting, dramatized English translation, music, and interactive commentary. This Maven Torah Reading Ritual transforms scripture into contemporary conversations—deep inside tradition, way outside the box.
