What's Jewish About Jewish Genealogy

Identity & Responsibility, Jewish Education

Genealogy is a Jewish tradition. It was found in the first chapters of the Bible and played a part in the lives of Jews from ancient times to the present. Lifecycle events provide clues, and modern resources and technology make getting started documenting family history easier than ever. Repositories in the U.S. and abroad, rabbinical dynasties, Holocaust-era records, Sephardic resources and more.
