This service will end at the playground and kids will be back at Camp Limmud "headquarters" by 11:45 a.m. pick-up.

Passport to the Jewish World

World Jewry

Jennifer Kraft

Saturday 9:00 AM–10:15 AM Foxfire

Which global Jewish communities today are considered the most vulnerable and what are some of the challenges faced? Through personal stories, you will "meet" individuals in Israel, Argentina, Ethiopia, Eastern Europe, and the Former Soviet Union who are not only struggling to survive, but yearning to connect to their Jewish roots. We will also discuss the critical role that North American Jewry is playing in the rescue, relief, and reconstruction of these communities.

Prayer Services - Shabbat Morning

Drum/Kirtan Service

Ilan Glazer, Andrew Hahn

Saturday 9:00 AM–10:15 AM Ballroom Ten Mile

Since days of old, music has been a foundation of Jewish prayer. Psalm 150 praises God with drums, flute, violin, and cymbals. Miriam and the women danced and drummed after the Exodus from Egypt. A drum circle is a beautiful way of forming a rhythmical community and of expressing our creativity through drumming. Join Ilan Glazer, founder of DrumDaven!, and Andrew Hahn, the Kirtan Rabbi, for an inspiring, participatory musical service. No experience necessary. This service will flow into the Maven Torah Reading scheduled for 10:30 a.m.
